Bergelin becomes quickest Denmark wrestler in history to reach milestone
Denmark junior Brock Bergelin is always embracing victory. The defending state champion wrestler went into
Saturday, Jan. 9, with two main goals instead of the usual one. The usual Saturday goal is to win the tournament in front of him, which was the annual Fred Lehrke. Second on the agenda on Saturday was Bergelin’s 100th career win at the varsity level.
Two matches in, and that one was out of the way.
One minute and twenty-three seconds into his match against Janesville Parker’s Trever Cheney, Bergelin had his arm raised for the 100th time, following a first round pinfall.
Now, Bergelin’s focus is shifted to one match at a time and going back-to-back seasons as a state champion.
