This spring will be the first to feature trap shooting at DHS

Denmark High School is bringing a new and interesting sport to their lineup of athletic selections this spring.

The Denmark High School trap shooting is joining a lineup of spring sports for the students, but unlike other sports, students can participate in one other than trap shooting.

The trap shooting team will be under the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League, which only had 24 high schools in competition last spring.

According to the WSHSCTL’s website, 18 schools have joined the 2016 season, including Denmark High School, Mishicot High School, and Clintonville High School.

The nearest high schools that competed in the WSHSCTL last season are Oconto Falls High School and Wolf River Lutheran High School in Cecil.

In order to compete, students must either own or obtain a hunter’s safety certificate.

According to the WSHSCTL’s website, athlete registration ends March 15th.

An informational meeting regarding the team is being held in the Denmark High School auditorium on Thursday, Feb 25, at 7 PM.
