As the weather turned out to be beautiful, Denmark High School finally had the opportunity to host a track meet on Tuesday, April 25.
For one Denmark High School student, his month just keeps getting better.
Two weeks into his reign as 2017 prom king, Wyatt Gezella is having his name put on the boy’s track record board for a third time.
Last season, alongside three senior teammates, Gezella participated in the WIAA state track meet in the 4×400 relay event.
After breaking two relay records and qualifying for state last season, Gezella is thriving as an individual runner this year.
Kole Brice, a member of Gezella’s state qualifying relay team last year, has held the Denmark High 400-meter record since 2015, when he ran 400 meters in 52.14 seconds.
On Tuesday, Gezella unofficially smoked that record on his home track with a time of 51.50
