Mishicot - Holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

On Tuesday, December 16, the Mishicot Elementary School had its annual holiday concerts directed by Mrs. Deb Mueller. The concerts were based on “Holidays at the Movies” and featured songs from well-known holiday movies.

The kindergarteners amazed the audience with I’m a Little Snowflake, a tradition for kindergarteners at Mishicot Elementary. They also sang Must Be Santa and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Then, the first graders sang a beautiful We are Santa’s Elves along with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Following this, the second graders sang Frosty the Snowman, Suzy Snowflake, and Hot Chocolate from the movie “The Polar Express.” Ending the noon concert, the grades combined sang Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin’ on Top of the World.

For the evening concert, the third graders sang We Need a Little Christmas, represented both in the movies “Mame” and “White Christmas.” They also performed a cute re-enactment of the Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree scene from “Home Alone,” which was completed with a moving mannequin of their Principal, Mr. Eric Nelson. Afterwards, the fourth graders sang two songs also from “Home Alone”: Mele Kalikimaka and Run, Run, Rudolph. With the lights out, the fifth graders performed a flashlight show to Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Overture to honor the birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven. Following that performance, they both sang and acted out The Grinch and Somewhere in my Memory. Completing their holiday concert, grades 3-5 did their rendition of Holiday Road from National Lampoon’s “Vacation” and their annual tradition of Christmas Canon, lighting the gym with candlelight.
