To kick off the 2025-2026 wrestling season, the Mishicot Girls’ Wrestling Team wrestled at Antigo on Friday, competing in a Round Robin Tournament. On Saturday, the boys took a trip to Little Chute, also competing in a tournament.
On the girls’ side, Debra Kuss, sophomore, took second place, losing only the championship match. Kuss currently has a 4-1 season record. Michaelynn Wotachek, junior, placed third wrestling at 132 pounds, also losing just one match. Wotachek’s seasonal record is also 4-1. Wrestling with just three entries, the girls team placed 11th overall.
For the boys, Owen Schacht, junior, wrestled at 190 pounds and had a first-place finish. Previously, Schacht was a 2024 state qualifier and a 2025 state qualifier placing fifth. This year, Schacht is currently ranked number one in the state and has a career record of 82-18. Jack Kaczrowski, freshman, also gathered a first-place finish wrestling at 113 pounds. Placing second was Parker Tulachka, sophomore, wrestling at 285 pounds. The boys’ team also had two fourth-place finishes and three fifth-place finishes, placing fourth as a team overall. What a great way to start off the season for both the boys’ and girls’ Mishicot Wrestling Teams.
