Denmark boys come up short in regional semifinals
DENMARK – The Denmark boys’ season came to a close with a 69-51 loss at Sheboygan Falls High School on Friday night in the regional semis.The Vikings concluded a 14-10 season.Denmark loses six players to graduation, including three who saw significant playing time – starter Josh Pelischek, Nick Rabas and Sam Sipiorski. The other seniors are Grant Vaskelis, Ryan Honnef and John Otradovec.Denmark was hounded by the Falcons’ 1-3-1 zone that forced 20 turnovers.

Wrightstown girls advance with regional final win over Foxes
WRIGHTSTOWN – Division 3’s top-ranked Wrightstown High School girls’ shrugged off a sluggish start and pulled away for a 64-50 victory over Fox  Valley Lutheran on Friday night to capture the regional championship.The Tigers, who won for the 23rd straight time following a season-opening loss, will take on Amherst, ranked third in the state, on Thursday in the first round of sectionals. Game time is 7 p.m.

Southern Door catches fire in second half to end Denmark girls' season
DENMARK – The Denmark High School girls gave second seed Southern Door all it wanted in the D3 regional semifinals on Friday night, but the Eagles found the range in the second half to pull away for a 48-29 victory, ending the Vikings season with an 11-13 mark.“I don’t think a lot of people expected us to win 11 games this year and finish tied for fifth in the NEC,” said Denmark head coach Kory Fredrikson.
