Last Friday, the Denmark area observed a meteorological milestone. Thirty years ago to the day, on July 5, 1994, an EF4 tornado carved through a two-and-a-half-mile stretch near Zander Road in the Town of Cooperstown. The tornado arrived without warning and left a devastated path of destruction in its wake. Looking at the site now, one would never know the havoc that ripped through the area three decades ago.
