Veterans Day Observances

After last week's amazing Veterans appreciation program at Denmark Middle School, both Denmark Elementary School and Denmark High School had some rather large shoes to fill if they wanted to put together presentations that were just as  moving and heartfelt for Veterans Day. Last Friday, they did just that.

Referendum Passes

On election day last Tuesday, voters in the Denmark School District were asked to decide on two very important referendum questions regarding the present and future of the district.  The first question was to renew the current operational referendum at $925,000 annually through the 2025-2026 school year.

K-9 Training at Lake to Lake

Haystack Dinner

On Wednesday, November 9, the Denmark Senior Center hosted a fundraiser "haystack dinner" for the public at their center on Highridge Avenue. For those, like this reporter, who never heard of a "haystack dinner" before, let me give you a short explanation. A haystack dinner is a fundraiser that revolves around a main course that consists of beef and a variety of toppings on top of a bed of corn or tortilla chips. Think, a "walking taco" without the bag.

Helping Those In Need

Every month, over 100 needy members of the Denmark community are provided with some necessary sustenance by the hard work and generosity of the Denmark Community Cupboard. The cupboard is able to give out roughly $150 of much needed groceries to those in our area who have fallen on hard times and are struggling to put food on the table.

Denmark had entrepreneurial spirit to bring electricity to village

Soon after the village of Denmark was incorporated, the community began moving toward having electricity come to the village. At that time, electricity was in its infancy, and so the infrastructure had not yet been built.

Honoring Those Who Have Served

Last Friday, the Denmark Middle School once again opened its doors to the community for an amazing and moving salute to all of those who have served our country.

Epi Pen Training Event Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday, November 8, The Dillon Mueller Memorial Fund will be hosting two training sessions on how to properly administer Epi Pens to victims suffering from anaphylactic reactions. Anaphylactic reactions have been steadily rising for years. These reactions can be brought on by either food allergies or environmental allergies such as a bee sting.

Denmark Trunk or Treat

Last Saturday from noon to two, the Denmark Middle School Parking lot was transformed into a Halloween wonderland with mountains of treats from a wide variety of “trunks” for hundreds of children from across the area and beyond.

Denmark School District Referendum:

​​Last Wednesday, the School District of Denmark hosted the second of two informational meetings regarding the proposed referendum on next month's ballot.
