Neshota Bridge Informational Meeting

On Wednesday, representatives from the Brown County Highway Department and their consulting firm, AECOM, hosted a public informational meeting about the upcoming reconstruction of the bridge on Highway KB that crosses the Neshota River. Although the bridge in question is in the Town of New Denmark, the meeting was hosted in the Village of Denmark's Village Hall due to the facility having internet access.

Village of Denmark December 2024 meeting

Last Monday, the Village of Denmark held their monthly board meeting in Village Hall. Following the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and roll call showing all members present, the board unanimously approved the night's agenda before moving on to comments from pre-registered members of the public.

Supporting Aging & Caregivers Luncheon

On Friday, hundreds of people gathered at Gatherings 43 for a special event aimed at increasing awareness about resources available to the elderly and disabled. That morning, Denmark Connects hosted their first-ever Supporting Aging & Caregivers Luncheon featuring representatives from seven area agencies sharing information about what resources and services they provide.

Winter Chorus Concert 2024

Last Monday, the Performing Arts Center (PAC)at Denmark High School was filled with the sounds of the season showcasing young vocal talent. That night, the Denmark Middle School and Denmark High School Choirs hosted their annual back-to-back Winter Concert giving their family and friends a chance to see their prowess and progress in person and hear some holiday favorites.

DMS Winter Band Concerts

On Thursday, local young musical talent took center stage once again with three back-to-back-to-back performances in the Denmark High School (DHS) Performing Arts Center (PAC). That night, the three Denmark Middle School (DMS) Bands hosted their annual holiday concert in the theater featuring a variety of Christmas favorites performed on a wide range of instruments. DENMARK HISTORY - Lake to Lake expanded Kiel plant benefitting Denmark

In 1983, the Lake to Lake Division of Land O’Lakes embarked on one of the largest building projects in its history. The company announced a $7 million project to expand its Kiel plant to allow better processing of whey. 

OneDenmark moves in

Last Thursday, OneDenmark invited one and all to join them in officially dedicating their new space which will soon become the Denmark Community Center & Library. That night, supporters gathered in the former Denmark Early Childhood Center (ECC) to celebrate the official transfer of the property from the school district to the organization and hear from members about the project ahead.

Maribel Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday, the one and only Santa Claus visited the Denmark area for two annual events. First, St. Nick stopped in Maribel for the annual Maribel Lions Breakfast with Santa in the Village Community Center featuring tasty treats, a delicious breakfast and, most importantly, visits with the big man himself. FFA Movie with Santa

Following a filling breakfast with the Lions in Maribel, Santa Claus continued his tour of the surrounding area with a stop at Denmark High School (DHS) for this year's FFA Movie with Santa in the school's cafeteria and Performing Arts Center (PAC). The event featured holiday movies, another chance to visit Santa, snacks and holiday crafts provided by friendly DHS FFA volunteers.

3rd Grade Christmas Concert

On Thursday, the Denmark High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) was packed with people for a top-notch holiday performance showcasing local young talent. That night, the Denmark Elementary School (DES) 3rd Grade Class presented "My Marvelous Magical Sleigh" by John Jacobson and John Higgins in the large theater featuring songs, dancing and a whole lot of Christmas spirit.

Stabbing in Cooperstown

Last Thursday afternoon, over a dozen police officers could be seen surrounding a home in Cooperstown on County Road R just south of the Brown-Manitowoc County line leading many to wonder the reason for their response.

Maribel December 2024 Meeting

Last Monday, the Maribel Village Board hosted their monthly meeting in the village's Community Center. Prior to the regular monthly meeting, the board convened their annual Budget Hearing with Village President Dan Fels calling the proceedings to order at 6:30 p.m. Board members and staff reviewed copies of the proposed 2025 village budget with Clerk Dale Bomski explaining certain items in the packet and answering questions from the board.

Denmark Christmas Tree Lighting 2024

On Saturday, a section of downtown Denmark was transformed into a holiday wonderland filled with festive fun. That evening, the village partnered with an array of local businesses, organizations and individuals to present the first-ever Village of Denmark Christmas Tree Lighting Event around the Devils River State Recreational Trailhead depot building.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner 2024

Last Thursday, Americans across the country gathered around tables to take part in this year's observance of Thanksgiving. On that same day, a small army of volunteers worked together to provide the same traditional experience to anyone in the Denmark area who wished to join. That afternoon, the volunteers hosted a free holiday feast for everyone to enjoy in the cafeteria at Denmark High School (DHS).

Second annual FFA Alumni Toy Show

On Saturday, hundreds upon hundreds of enthusiasts, hobbyists and gift seekers descended on Denmark High School for an annual exhibition featuring thousands of unique items. That day, the Denmark FFA Alumni hosted their second annual Farm Toy, Railroad & Vendor Show in the school's gymnasium with dozens of vendors spread out across hundreds of display tables.
