Glenmore January 2025 meeting

Last Monday, the Town of Glenmore held a public hearing followed by a monthly town board meeting in their Community Center on Dickinson Road. At 7:30 p.m., Town Chairman Ron Nowak called the hearing in order to hear public comment on a number of changes to the municipality's housing codes and building permit process. It was explained these changes were necessary for the new town building inspector to assume their duties.

Fun for a cause

Prior to the 2024 winter break, Denmark Middle School (DMS) students were treated to a wild and eventful assembly to reward their impressive charity this holiday season. On Thursday, December 20, the school's student council hosted an exhibition in the gymnasium that included festive games, music, a barnyard animal and dozens of rolls of duct tape and cans of whipped cream.

2nd Grade Christmas Concert

Following the 1st Grade Christmas Concert on Thursday night, the Denmark Elementary School 2nd Graders took the stage for their annual holiday performance. Like their younger counterparts, the concert had been canceled on December 19 due to that day's snowstorm and rescheduled for the new year.

Remembering "Milty"

Just before the holidays, many in the Denmark area and beyond were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of the community's most influential and well-known residents. Milton "Milty" "Turk" Bielinski was a pillar of the Denmark community and left an undeniable impression on it in his 85 years living, working and leading there.

New "Snow Angel" program kicks off

This new year, a new program is underway in the Village of Denmark aimed at assisting those in need during the winter season. This month, Denmark Connects is launching a "Snow Angel" initiative in the village to help facilitate snow removal for those unable to complete the task themselves. Last week, we sat down with Denmark Connects Campaign Manager Molly Arneson to learn more.

1st Grade Christmas Concert

The Christmas spirit was made to linger around a bit longer in the Denmark School District this new year. Due to the snowstorm on December 19, the scheduled 1st and 2nd Grade Christmas Concerts were cancelled and rescheduled for last Thursday night. That evening, hundreds of family members gathered in the Denmark High School (DHS) Performing Arts Center (PAC) to take in two performances that managed to capture the holiday spirit, even in January.

Denmark Community Closet recieves boost

Just before Christmas, Bank First Denmark had a special holiday gift for the Denmark Community Closet. On Friday, December 20, Bank First Vice President of Retail Banking, Sami Behnke, stopped by the closet with a generous $1,000 donation as part of the firm’s annual “Bank First Community Holiday Donation”.

New Maribel Lions

On December 20, the Maribel Lions welcomed and swore in three new members during the organization's annual Christmas Party at Gatherings 43 in Denmark. The event was attended by members of the Maribel Lions and their spouses and featured food, drinks and presents.

DENMARK HISTORY - Residents pull together to get through extreme blizzard in 1956

On Saturday, March 10, 1956, an extreme blizzard rolled through northeast Wisconsin blanketing the Denmark area with eight inches of snow, some of which blew into drifts as high as six or seven feet.
