HOMECOMING 2024: Parade

On Friday afternoon, the Denmark community gathered for a tradition that has been a staple of the yearly Homecoming festivities for decades. The annual Homecoming Parade has long been a highlight of the festive week for many, and this year's procession did not disappoint in any way.

HOMECOMING 2024: Dance

On Saturday, September 21, the traditional Homecoming Dance was held in the Denmark High School gymnasium. High school students from all four grade levels were invited to the annual celebration that followed the week's theme of "Denmark's Got Game". The gymnasium was decorated with board and video game-themed items, many of which had been repurposed from the week's hallway decorations.

Prior to Friday night's Homecoming main event football game between the Denmark Vikings and the Little Chute Mustangs, Denmark High School students spent the day ramping up their school spirit and class pride with a variety of fun activities.

This year's Homecoming match-up between the Denmark Vikings and the Little Chute Mustangs was an amazing display of student talent both on and off the field. Throughout the game, various groups and organizations had a chance to shine in front of a massive hometown audience.

HOMECOMING 2024: Bank First Tailgate

For this year's Homecoming, Bank First - Denmark had a fun and tasty treat for customers to enjoy before the big game. On Friday afternoon, the branch hosted their annual customer appreciation "Tailgate Party" outside their building in downtown Denmark. The Denmark News was live on the scene to learn more about this annual event.

KC Golf Outing 2024

On Saturday, hundreds of area golfers hit the links at Wander Springs in support of a local family. That day, the Denmark Knights of Columbus Father Platta Council #4735 hosted their 23rd Annual Benefit Golf Outing at the acclaimed course featuring fun, prizes, food, drinks and golf with all proceeds going to the Brooke Tenor family. The Denmark News was live on the scene to learn more about this year's event.

Our Savior's Fall Fest 2024

On Sunday, hundreds gathered in and around Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Denmark for the parish's annual Fall Festival and Car Show fundraiser. Unfortunately, to the chagrin of organizers and attendees, Mother Nature did not want to cooperate with the congregation's planned event. The nine straight days of unseasonably warm and dry late summer weather finally broke over the weekend, and Sunday morning dawned cool and dreary with  persistent rain.

Hotel opens!

On Thursday, September 12, the newest feature of the Village of Denmark opened its doors for the first time ushering in the potential for a new era of tourism and commerce in the municipality. That afternoon, the newly-constructed Cobblestone Hotel & Suites on the southwestern corner of the Village was host to a Grand Opening Ceremony featuring speakers, prizes and tours of the new facility.

Southpaw competes to be the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin

This week, you can help put a local business, and the Denmark community, on the map. Voting is now open for this year's "Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin", and Denmark's own Southpaw Systems is a candidate for the prize.

Denmark Homecoming this weekend

This week, the Denmark School District, and the community as a whole, will be taking part in a longstanding and beloved American fall tradition. Although earlier than usual, the annual Homecoming celebration is now upon us once again with loads of fun to be had by all.

Denmark Flag Retirement 2024

Last Saturday, area veterans gathered to respectfully retire symbols of our nation and its freedoms. That morning, members of Denmark VFW Post 6705 and American Legion Post 363 gathered outside the legion to carry out the annual Retirement Ceremony to properly dispose of worn and damaged American flags.

Village of Denmark September 2024 Meeting

Last Monday, the Village of Denmark convened their monthly board meeting in Village Hall. Prior to the regular meeting, the board hosted a Public Hearing to address the proposed addition of a chapter regarding "Sexually-Oriented Businesses" in the Village municipal code. The stated purpose of the new ordinance is to "regulate sexually-oriented businesses in order to promote health, safety, morals and general welfare of the citizens of the Village".

Cooperstown September 2024 Meeting

On Tuesday night, the Town of Cooperstown hosted their monthly board meeting in their Town Hall in Rosecrans. Following the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and roll call showing all three members in attendance, the board unanimously approved the night's agenda and the minutes of their previous meeting before moving on to reports from town officials.

Last Monday, the Village of Maribel hosted their monthly board meeting in their Community Center. Following the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and roll call showing all members in attendance, the board unanimously approved the night's agenda, the last meeting's minutes and the month's Treasurer's Report unanimously.

First day of school 2024

Last Tuesday, children across the area bid farewell to another summer vacation and embarked on a new year of learning in the Denmark School District. While each new school year brings with it a host of changes, this one was made all the more unique with the presence of several new and ongoing improvements taking place simultaneously with the chaotic first day.

Arise Church launches in Denmark

On Sunday, Denmark's newest congregation of worshipers gathered for their first-ever official gathering at Denmark High School. That morning, Arise Church Denmark hosted a "launch service" in the school's Performing Arts Center featuring scripture, reflection, music and prayer. The Denmark News was in attendance to learn more about the new assembly of faith.
