Last week, an area resident who lives in western New Denmark stopped by our office to report peculiar lights and movement he has seen in the sky near his home at night. This individual, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, lives near the intersection of State Highway 96 and County Road NN and shared a number of videos to back up his claim.

Last Monday, the Town of Glenmore Board of Supervisors convened their regularly monthly meeting in the municipal Community Center near Shirley. In a short meeting that lasted just over fifteen minutes, a number of items were discussed including recent security concerns with the building where the meeting was being held and what was being done to address them.

On January 6, sophomores at Denmark High School in Mr. Derenne’s Personal Planning Class had the opportunity to take part in a number of mock interviews with local business professionals. To prepare, students learned about crafting resumes, dressing for success, answering interview questions and also asking questions of their own to learn more about potential career opportunities after high school.

On Sunday, Neshota Park received a sturdy, new hand-crafted firewood shelter for their fire ring courtesy of a local young woman working towards an impressive achievement. The shelter was crafted by Denmark High School Senior Sophie Gerondale and serves as her Eagle Scout Service Project which is set to earn her the highest designation in Scouts BSA.

Last week, Jeff Altenhof was the lucky winner at All Saints Bingo taking home the $6,246.00 Progressive Jackpot! Jeff got the blackout on the 57th number called, which was the last number called for the prize at the session. The next All Saints Bingo session is this Monday, January 19 with sessions to follow every Monday night until May 4!
