At Howard, the Vikings’ girls’ wrestling team finished 28th in a 36-team field at Bay Port High School. Denmark finished with 23 points. Bay Port won the team title with 227.5 points ahead of second-place Luxemburg-Casco.

Bank First cuts ribbon

On Thursday, dozens gathered outside the entrance to the new Bank First Denmark branch building to officially commemorate its opening after a year-long construction process. That morning, Bank First employees, management and contracting partners, as well as community leaders and members of the public, joined together to celebrate the completion of the project with a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.

Downtown Denmark: Past and Present - Part I

Of all the buildings in downtown Denmark that have stood the test of time, none may be more recognizable than the large two-story brown-brick structure in the center of town. Situated at the central intersection of Main Street, North Wall Street and Wisconsin Avenue, this building has served the community with a variety of uses for over a century with the parcel itself having a history dating back to the earliest days of the settlement.

Greenleaf residents speak out about data center

Last week, we reported on the sudden possibility of an AI data center being built in the nearby Village of Greenleaf. After our story was published, it was revealed the company involved with the project--Cloverleaf Industries--had pulled all plans for the center in Greenleaf, presumably due to the rapid public outcry that followed the news. Still, many in the greater Greenleaf area are concerned about the issue rearising in the near future.
