Last Tuesday, the Denmark Treble Makers took the stage for their annual concert to a packed house in the DHS PAC. On Saturday, Denmark Boy Scout Troop 1052 teamed up with fellow youth from the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Leos for this year’s “Scouting for Food: Spring Edition”. Along with some adult volunteers, they collected non-perishable food items from across the Village and helped restock the Denmark Community Cupboard’s shelves for the season.

Congratulations to the 2026 DHS Prom King Donald Ledden and Queen Lily Kapinos! The royal couple were crowned by 2025 Prom King Tynan Conway and Queen Ella Ovsak and ruled over Saturday night’s dance in the school atrium with their court.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Denmark High School (DHS) Performing Arts Center (PAC) will be the site of chaos and hilarity as this year’s spring play takes the stage for three performances. “Play On!” by Rick Abbot will leave audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter as they watch a dysfunctional fictional theater troupe attempt to stage a doomed production. 

Last week, much of Wisconsin, and the midwest as a whole, was inundated with excessive rainfall and stormy conditions that led to high water and flooding in numerous locations. 

During last Monday’s Denmark School Board meeting, multiple district staff members utilized the proceeding’s Public Forum portion to raise concerns about the handling of the recent data breach that has reportedly resulted in numerous employees experiencing identity fraud.

Students from Mishicot High School put their knowledge of government and current events to the test as they competed in the 2026 Wisconsin Civics Games on Wednesday April 8 for the statewide academic competition focused on civic education and engagement.

Beginning in March, Matthew, a student in the Mishicot School District, began competing in America’s Favorite Student Competition. The winner of the competition is offered a spot in Reader’s Digest as well as a tour of the Planetary Society in Pasadena, California, with Bill Nye, the Science Guy. In addition, the winner also receives $20,000 to put towards further education purposes.

On the morning of April 8, members of the Mishicot Business Association visited the School District of Mishicot to experience firsthand the creativity, leadership, and career-ready skills of Mishicot High School students.

Every month, the Mishicot High School teachers choose one student in their classes that match the monthly theme of Mishicot’s readiness skills. Teachers analyze student behavior, mindsets, and drive throughout the month and choose a student they believe best represents the skill chosen.

Our next stop on our trip through downtown Denmark of the past brings us to the large two-and-a-half story building that looms over Main Street from its perch straddling Green Bay and De Pere Roads. Today, the building hosts AOT Yoga in its lowest level and a number of apartments in the two floors above, but it has known a number of other uses through the decades. 

There is one word you are all but guaranteed to read in every issue of The Denmark News–volunteer. From community events, to school and church functions, to organizations and initiatives that serve others and everything in between, so much of what happens in our community happens because of dedicated and caring volunteers.

Last week, Denmark High School (DHS) Musical Theater received high praise and recognition on the state stage with a cast member’s nomination for a major award.

Last weekend, multiple Village of Denmark residents reported incidents of attempted and successful vehicle break-ins throughout the municipality. The Denmark News looked through these reports and spoke with Denmark DEO Deputy Pigeon to learn more.

For the last three months, a small and dedicated group at Denmark High School (DHS) have been working together to produce this year’s spring play. “Play On!” by Rick Abbot will take the DHS Performing Arts Center (PAC) stage on April 24, 25 and 26 with a cast of zany characters attempting to stage a doomed play-within-a-play.

Last Tuesday, voters across the nation headed to the polls for spring elections. Locally, voters in the Denmark School District were asked to vote on an operational referendum and School Board member while those in the Village of Denmark cast ballots for Municipal Judge as well as three positions on the Municipal Board of Trustees.
