DENMARK – There were two opponents for the Denmark baseball team to face Tuesday as it began its 2026 season.

This Easter, the Mishicot FFA and MBA hosted its second annual Easter Egg Hunt for the Mishicot community. The egg and bunny hunt was located around town and was a fun event for kids within the community to get out of the house and enjoy fun Easter activities.

On Friday, April 3, 2026, members of Harpt Lake, along with community members or Mishicot and surrounding communities, planted 2,800 perch back into the lake.

To kick off the season, the Mishicot Softball Team took a memorable trip down to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to bond as a team and get some warmer-weather ball in. For four nights, thirty players and coaches stayed in a lovely lodge, creating a bond that will last a lifetime. They ate meals together, played games, shared laughs, and held an inaugural class talent show.

Mishicot community members Mark and Becky Olson have recently been treating the community to line dancing lessons held at Grey Fox Bar and Grill, formerly known as Fox Hills. The lessons started in mid-November 2025 and are held every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Last week, The Denmark News returned to the Olympic Village mobile home community to speak with residents about ongoing issues with the park's upkeep and management. After speaking with a number of residents, we discovered little, if anything, has changed since we last reported on the issue in December. Fearing reprisal for speaking out, these residents have requested to remain anonymous.

Last week, people across the Midwest were saddened to hear the news that a regional non-profit would be ceasing operations effective immediately. For over two decades, Ruby's Pantry has provided a low-cost food option to families across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North Dakota. In Denmark, a local Ruby's Pantry operated out of Our Savior's Lutheran Church has been serving the greater community for almost eight years.

This weekend, families from throughout the Denmark area and beyond set out to fill their annual quota of colorful eggs. Locally, while Mother Nature may not have cooperated with these plans, area organizations found ways to modify their events to keep the Easter magic alive. The Denmark News was on the scene at multiple egg hunts to learn more.

Last week, Denmark High School (DHS) senior Franny Terrien was named one of the three winners of this year’s Kwik Trip Innovation Competition which tasks Wisconsin students with creating and presenting a marketing plan for a new product to be sold at Kwik Trip stores.
