United Way hosts "Community Conversation" in Denmark

Last Thursday, representatives from United Way stopped by Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Denmark for a special collaboration with OneDenmark aimed at identifying needs and issues that are affecting the greater area. The Denmark News was in attendance to learn more. 

MacDowell Male Chorus concert scheduled for March 1

Music lovers of all ages are invited to Denmark High School (DHS) on March 1 for a special performance showcasing amazing vocal talent. That afternoon, the Denmark Knights of Columbus Father Platta Council #4735 will host the renowned MacDowell Male Chorus in the school’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) for a concert that is sure to please.

FFA members "pop in and say thanks" at local businesses

Last week, members of the Denmark High School FFA were out and about spreading gratitude. On February 3, FFA members visited a number of local businesses and farms to “pop in and say thanks”. Glenmore board clears way for new business

Last Monday, the Town of Glenmore Board of Supervisors hosted their regular monthly meeting in their Community Center near Shirley. A number of the meeting's topics centered around a potential new business in the municipality which has been described as a "Farm General Store". The Denmark News was in attendance to learn more.

DHS Jazz Band takes UWSP

On Friday, the Denmark High School Jazz Band ventured west to take part in this year’s UW-Stevens Point Jazz Festival where they had a chance to play for, learn and hear from top musicians in the field. Each instrument had their own master class as well as a group clinic with two professional musicians.

Mishicot - United by grit, a season of growth on the ice

The Manitowoc United/Mishicot boys’ hockey team has built its season around grit and determination, according to player Jacob Wallander. As a program that was revived in 2021 after being disbanded in 2015, the team continues to focus on effort and growth rather than just wins and losses.

Mishicot - Future Business Leaders of America Regional Leadership Conference

This past Saturday, February 7, the Mishicot Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organization sent five students to the Region VI Wisconsin Regional Leadership Conference at Dodgeland High School. Previously, two more students participated in online events for the same conference.

Mishicot - Big East Wrestlers competing at Cedar-Grove Belgium

On Friday, February 6, Mishicot High School sent its wrestling team to Cedar-Grove Belgium to compete at the Conference Tournament. The boys’ and girls’ teams both came out with many first-place wins and overall podium placings. Both teams are coached by Head Coach Max Loberger and assistants Justin Kuss, Bailey Thelen, and Frank Koeppel.
