Mishicot High School softball player Sierra Skarda recently earned the honor of representing Mishicot in the Senior All-Star Game showcasing her talent, dedication, and competitive spirit on the field.

This and last week’s issues of The Denmark News each featured articles about facts and controversies surrounding the use of Flock Safety cameras. It is apparent this is a divisive and controversial subject with passionate appeals on either side. For this week’s editorial, I would like to share my thoughts on the use of Flock cameras in Denmark.

DENMARK – The North Eastern Conference recently announced its all-conference selections in three spring sports. The Denmark Vikings were well represented in earning spots on all three teams.

On Saturday, Denmark's own Nic Lyons completed a major milestone when he crossed the finish line of the Bellin Run for the 50th consecutive time. Lyons is one of only 22 "Bellin Legends" who have taken part in the race every year since its inception in 1977. Last week, we ventured out to the Lyons farm to meet with Nic and discuss his passion for running and the impact it has had on his life.

An exciting event is coming to the Village of Denmark this September, and it is shaping up to be a wild ride. On September 26, the first-ever Denmark Dash 920 will take to the streets with a high-intensity, downhill race through town as the main event and so much more to enjoy while celebrating all things Denmark.

As of the date of this publication, the bridge on County Highway KB crossing the Nehota River is closed to traffic as crews begin a reconstruction project on the aged infrastructure.

Last month, six local young people ventured to our nation’s capitol to compete in this year’s National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) Grand National Tournament where they tested their performance skills alongside other top performers in the country.

On June 6 and 7, over two dozen Denmark students made their way out to Nekoosa in central Wisconsin to compete in this year’s Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League Trap Shooting State Tournament.
