Last Thursday and Friday, the staff of The Denmark News made their way south to Madison for this year’s Wisconsin Newspaper Association (WNA) Convention at the Madison Concourse Hotel. Over the course of the conference, they met with their peers from across the state, learned from industry leaders and picked up a couple of awards. For this week’s Editorial, I would like to share my thoughts on the trip.

DENMARK – Sometimes a reset is all that is required to get things going in the right direction.

Dale Frederick Wendt, 65, of rural Denmark entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, February 25, surrounded by his children and loved ones.

Dale was born on March 3, 1960, to Harry and Janet (Bloedorn) Wendt. He attended Denmark Schools graduating in 1978.

Timothy N. “Tim” Mleziva, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, with his wife Marilyn by his side. Tim was born on November 8, 1950, in Green Bay, the son of the late Gordon and Dolores (Kreilkamp) Mleziva. 

Michael Daniel Welch, beloved Son, Brother, and Friend was called to the Lord on February 22, 2026. He passed peacefully at his home due to an unexpected cardiac event. 

Patricia A. “Mouse” Jurczykowski, 66, Kewaunee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, surrounded by the people she loved most.  She was born on June 7, 1959, and was the beloved daughter of the late Melvin and Valerie Pisha.
