Chris Nelson is the President and CEO of Nelson Media Company. Founded in 2020, Chris saw a need for local media marketing and storytelling. As a television meteorologist with nearly a decade in the industry, he harnessed those experiences to quickly grow NMC into an organization that serves clients across the Midwest and the nation. Chris is passionate about helping clients connect with their customers. He describes himself as a visionary and continues to grow the NMC brand, venturing into the newspaper industry in 2021.

VOD considers allowing UTVs/ATVs

A new type of vehicle may soon be a common sight on village streets as the municipal government considers opening their streets up to UTVs and ATVs. Over the last two months, the Village of Denmark Plan Commission has discussed the possibility at both of their meetings and now seem prepared to move forward with an ordinance legalizing the practice on village streets.

CASCO – The Denmark Devilbears fell just one game short in their attempt to three-peat as Shoreland League champions on Thursday night, falling 4-1 to Casco at Casco’s Village Park.

AUG. 20 SPORTS: Lindsley, Kraschnewski get win for girls’ golf team

VALDERS – The Denmark pairing of Alison Lindsley and Shae Kraschnewski took the top spot at Thursday’s Gumby Classic at Autumn Ridge G.C.

The duo shot an 80 in the two-player format that featured six holes of scramble, six holes of alternate shot and six holes of bestball. The pairing defeated the field by eight shots.

Village takes aim at non-compliant building

During this month’s Village of Denmark Board of Trustees meeting, another extended discussion was had over a rental property on Wisconsin Avenue that has been deemed to be in violation of several municipal ordinances with the board ultimately deciding to approve a raze/repair order. The Denmark News first reported on the debate surrounding the building in January when the board approved daily fines for each violation.

The 2025 season ended on a high note for the Denmark cross country teams. In total, five personal records were set by Denmark runners at the WIAA sectional meet, and three more runners set personal records at the event.

The Denmark girls’ golf program has made a name for itself over the past couple of seasons. Two years ago, it came out of nowhere with a fairly young roster to win the WIAA regional. Last year, the task was about meeting higher expectations, which it did by winning the conference title for the first time since 2019.
