Next Wednesday, September 23, after years of anticipation, the greater Denmark community will welcome its newest feature with the grand opening of the Community First Credit Union Community Center. For just over a year now, OneDenmark and their contractors have been rapidly transforming the former Early Childhood Center (ECC) into a vibrant and modern community space, and they are now ready to unveil their hard work to the public.

On Saturday, hundreds of people made their way to the southeastern side of the Village of Denmark for an annual fall tradition nearly seven decades in the making. That day, the congregation of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church presented their 69th Annual Fall Festival & Car Show with a wide range of activities and features for all to enjoy.

On Friday, members of the Titletown Threshing Club honored the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with a special patriotic-themed tractor ride through the countryside. Nearly 40 flag-clad tractors participated in the procession which started from Bushville Lanes making its way to Luxemburg where they paraded through downtown before ending their tour at Cedar Valley Campground.

On Friday, September 4, students and staff at Denmark Elementary School (DES) celebrated the end of the first week of another school year with some messy fun. That day, DES ended the school day with an assembly featuring prizes, recognition and lots of slime.

During last Tuesday’s Town of Cooperstown monthly board meeting, tensions flared over a recent visit to the municipality from national media figures which involved a stop at the Town Hall.

On Saturday, the Denmark American Legion Post #363 and the Denmark VFW Post #6705 came together for this year’s flag retirement. That morning, members from both posts, along with members of Denmark Scout Troop 1052, disposed of hundreds of weathered and torn American flags with a massive pyre after a ceremony led by Denmark VFW Commander Jesse Cain and Denmark American Legion Commander Pat Wisniewski.

On Friday, the nation observed the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks which took the lives of 2,977 people and scarred our country for years to come. America has never quite been the same since 9/11, something even someone like me who was a child when the attacks happened can easily observe, and we are in many ways still affected by the events of that terrible day and the reaction to it.

MishiCup, a student-based enterprise at Mishicot High School, delays their annual opening due to new requirements brought on by the city of Manitowoc. MishiCup offers coffee, refreshers, hot chocolate, chai tea, and occasional treats to the high school students, staff, and faculty. In addition, MishiCup brings its business to the public through pop-ups.

Four Mishicot High School students--Michael W., Cooper B., Dane M., and Emersyn G--took part in a Jr. Leadership Manitowoc County session on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The program, organized through The Chamber of Manitowoc County, brought students together to develop leadership skills, learn about their community, and connect with other students from across Manitowoc County.
