Recently, the Village of Denmark has acknowledged some newly-released data that bodes well for the municipality’s future. Earlier this year, the Wisconsin Department of Administration released population projections for the next 25 years for each of the state’s municipalities. While many are expected to see a decline in size in the coming decades, the Village of Denmark is projected to grow.

Before the excitement of last week’s Brown County Fair, several local youth represented Denmark on an even higher level during this year’s Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis. To learn more, we spoke with Denmark Middle School FFA Advisor Marty Nowak and the parents of the presenters.

On Saturday, Duck Creek Vineyard and Winery hosted this year’s “Wine, Spirit and Beer Fest” outside their acclaimed winery, distillery, brewery and tasting room in New Denmark.

Recently, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) recognized Mishicot High School for its strong dedication to its student-athletes. For the first time in history, Mishicot was one of 29 school districts to receive the recognition for its leadership, sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity.

Sara Greenwood takes pride in her positions in the district. Her goal is to have an impact on every student. She has been working in the district for 12 years and tries to make every student feel she has known them for those 12 years. She truly carries the Mishicot mindset throughout her time in the district. Small town, big opportunity. This is the motto she lives by.

Mishicot High School and Middle School have hired a new principal for the 2026-2027 school year. With community help and many interviews, Mishicot is proud to announce Daniel Butler as the new Principal.

Mishicot is seeking a choral director, an essential position to the district.  The position is an important opportunity for someone passionate about music and education to help shape the future of choral music in Mishicot. The district is looking for a dedicated individual who can inspire students, develop their vocal skills, and build a strong and exciting choral program.

With the Village of Denmark now seriously debating permitting ATVs and UTVs on municipal streets, opinions on the matter are being shared in all directions. Overall, the consensus locally seems to favor legalizing the unconventional conveniences pointing to the benefits for local businesses as well as the fact that so many other municipalities already allow them.
