Everywhere you look, AI is “revolutionizing” our lives and there are naturally a lot of things to be said. While some see this new wave as an exciting new chapter in technology, others look at the rapid advancements with unease.

At the intersection of County Highway JJ and County Highway P sits a legendary tavern that has been serving the surrounding communities for generations. This year, there is a new, albeit familiar, figure at the helm of Bushville Lanes ready to continue its storied legacy while also crafting his own.

Laura M. Valenta, age 57 of Maribel, passed away peacefully at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center on Friday, July 31, 2026, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 26, 1969, in Manitowoc, to Lester and Dolores (Loberger) Valenta.  Laura graduated from Denmark High School with the class of 1987.

This fall, a Denmark native will be taking to the dance floor as they take part in a regional competition aimed at supporting vital non-profits in our area. On October 3, Amy Jo Tetzner will join with seven other competitors for this year’s Northeast Wisconsin Dancing with Our Stars at the Epic Events Center in Green Bay.

Devilbears into Shoreland championship series against Casco

KEWAUNEE – For the second straight year, the Denmark Devilbears will face Casco in the championship series of the Shoreland League.

Last Wednesday, the Town of Cooperstown convened their regular monthly meeting in Rosecrans with a major item of discussion and action being the filling of a supervisor vacancy.

At Kewaunee, the Chiefs evened things up in the best-of-three semifinal series against the Devilbears, forcing a decisive game three.

Throughout this summer, work crews have been hard at work at numerous construction sites throughout the local area, utilizing the warmer weather and longer days to progress and complete a variety of construction, infrastructure and landscaping projects; however, one site in the Village of Denmark has remained inexplicably all but untouched throughout the season.
