In 1974, the Denmark School District was putting the question of a pool to the voters. Voters would be able to decide through a referendum on April 2, 1974.

On Monday, America “celebrated” Labor Day 2026. Of all the holidays on the calendar, none may be more misunderstood and less revered then that first Monday in September when we celebrate…workers? For this week’s editorial, I would like to examine the history and the “point” of Labor Day as another one comes and goes.

GREEN BAY – It’s never a bad idea for a team to prepare for what is coming later in the season.

In January 1964, the Denmark School District was preparing to start the construction process on the new Denmark High School.

This summer, renowned local racer Cole Czarneski brought his automotive skills to Iowa for a special series honoring veterans and had the chance to take his grandparents–Steve and Pam Mathis–along for the ride.

Last week, the Town of Cooperstown received a special visit from a national podcast looking to observe the one-and-only Nick Propson in his natural habitat. On Monday, members of the hit Barstool Sports podcast “The Yak” stopped by a number of sites in the local area with Propson and a merry band of mischief makers, getting a taste of some of the outlandish activities they get up to when left to their own devices.

On Thursday, Denmark High School (DHS) welcomed students, staff, parents and the community as a whole back for another academic year with a brand-new event showcasing just some of the amazing things happening in the school every day. That afternoon, the school hosted its first-ever Back-to-School Kickoff featuring music, games, fun and a celebration of all things DHS.

From August 19 through the 23, thousands from across the county converged on a property on the northern edge of De Pere for an annual tradition celebrating agriculture, heritage and all things Brown County. The 2026 Brown County Fair featured five days of exhibitions, competitions, performances and fun with hundreds and hundreds coming together to make the event possible.
