The 2026 volleyball season for the Denmark Vikings will be one where the team looks to replace a very talented senior class and find its place in an always tough North Eastern Conference.

A season ago, the Denmark football team improved on its record from 2024 by going 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the North Eastern Conference.

In 2026, the Vikings would like to again improve on that mark, and this time around they’ll be doing it with the backing of new head coach Jason Bins.

AUG. 18 SPORTS: Girls golf takes second at Hilly Haven

DE PERE – The Denmark girls’ golf team finished second to Wrightstown on Tuesday in a North Eastern Conference three-team mini-meet that also featured Freedom.

The Vikings’ final score of 198 fell just two shots off the pace of first place Wrightstown (196) and six shots ahead of Freedom (204) in a very competitive event held at Hilly Haven G.C.

DENMARK HISTORY - Smokestack towers over Denmark for more than 90 years

In 2010, a local landmark came tumbling to the ground. The smokestack at the Land O’ Lakes factory near downtown Denmark was torn down to address growing safety issues with the aging structure.

That is where the Denmark Devilbears ended up after game one of the Shoreland League championship series on Monday night, defeating rival Casco 4-0 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
