With County Highway P now reopened near Henrysville, it is even easier to reach one of the area’s premiere dining and event destinations in what was once known as Buckmans Corners. Situated at the corner of Pine Grove Road and County Highway P, Beverly Gardens has been a staple of the local community for ten decades providing fantastic food and superior service to  generations and is still going strong as ever.

Last week, one of the Village of Denmark DEOs reached out to The Denmark News to express a concern about unauthorized vehicle use on municipal streets. After our reporting on recent discussions about potentially opening up village streets for the use of ATVs and UTVs, officers have experienced a sharp uptick in their unauthorized use in town and wish to clarify their current legality.

On Tuesday, September 1, the streets of Denmark were once again filled with the sights, sounds and chaotic energy that accompany the before and after school commute as local students and staff returned for another year of learning. That morning, the buses were rolling and the bells were ringing as classes resumed for another nine months.

For nearly a decade now, the Denmark School District has been helmed by the community’s own Luke Goral who has served as District Administrator since 2018 overseeing operations in each of the three schools. With a new school year now upon us, we thought it would be prudent to speak with Goral to get his perspective on the start of another year of learning in Denmark.

This school year, students at Denmark Middle School (DMS) will have a new friendly face at the helm of the school’s bands. New DMS Band Director Emma Burchall has already spent weeks working with her students and has even hosted her first concert in the district before classes ever convened.

There is no doubt that going to school has drastically changed in the last couple of decades. One of the biggest changes students have experienced is the rapid proliferation of new technologies that have made their way into almost every aspect of our daily life.

Next Saturday, local veterans and their supporters will be taking part in a solemn ceremony to properly dispose of symbols of our country that have aged beyond their use. That morning, members of the Denmark American Legion Post 363 and Denmark VFW Post 6705 will host their annual Flag Retirement Ceremony outside the Legion Post to dispose of any worn or damaged American flags.

With the start of the new school year, Mishicot has welcomed eight Mishicot Managers to help run the Mishicot High School businesses. These eight individuals will work throughout the year to help their associated businesses thrive and move on a straight path. Each business—Mishicot Enterprises, Mishicot Floral, and MishiCup—is a student-run business, guided by High School teachers.
